Remembering Belize

Here it is seven months later, and I’m remembering my first missionary trip to Belize. What an experience!

I traveled to Belize on August 30, 2016 with eleven other ladies. The twelve of us boarded the airplane from Raleigh, North Carolina with great excitement and anticipation. We knew God was going to move mighty in Belize, we just didn’t know to what extent.

During our six-day stay, we had the opportunity to visit an orphanage, dance at a Belizean event, and some of the dancers ministered on a Belizean Christian television show. We also enjoyed eating Belizean food, meeting new people, traveling to the marketplace, developing friendships and relationships while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

This trip taught me a lot. Being in Belize opened my eyes to see how others were living, and how grateful I should be for what I have. Not all areas in Belize are impoverished, but in some of the areas we visited were in economic distress.

I believe in the United States, we take so much for granted, while people in other countries have to believe God just for the basic needs, such as: water, housing, education, and etc. Don’t misunderstand me, I know there are some places in the United States that are impoverished as well. But some countries experience poverty at a much higher level than we do, with limited resources.

Even though I witnessed poor housing conditions, poverty, lack of economic development and etc. I thought going to Belize I would be a blessing to them, but they blessed me too. I met individuals who displayed such a sweet and humble spirit in spite of their circumstances and conditions.

I am so grateful that God opened the door for me to travel abroad with some of the most beautiful warm-hearted women and dancers. It was a financial struggle to go, but God did it!

A special thanks to Apostle Regina Stevenson, founder of Titus II Dance Ministry of Raleigh, North Carolina for leading the way for us to travel to Belize, and to my daughters Phyllica and Jasmine, and my friend Dee for sowing a seed.

To God Be the Glory for the great things He has done and will continue to do in the lives of His people.

Peace and Blessings,

Pamela
